The highly anticipated literary event is back this year, taking place from January 29 to February 13, 2021.

Spread over three weekends, there’s plenty of family-friendly literature and art-themed events and activities taking place at Jameel Arts Centre (January 29 and 30) and Alserkal Avenue (February 12 and 13), in addition to the festival’s home at the InterContinental Dubai Festival City (February 4 to 6).   

Here’s what you can expect over the festival.

For fans of fiction

Some of the hottest debut authors will be heading to the festival namely Nigerian-British author of Lagos noir My Sister the Serial Killer – Oyinkan Braithwaite, author of Love in ColourBolu Babalola, and more.

Malala

And of course, you can’t miss the youngest Nobel Prize laureate Malala, who will be at the festival telling the audience about her story, her mission and her vision for the future.

Sustainability-minded families will love the Voices of Future Generations for the Middle East Region’s book launch. The free session is dedicated to the stories collated in Young Voices of Arabia, a beautifully produced collection of stories by children, for children with illustrations created by UAE-based artists. And if you’re lucky, you might end up finding the golden ticket surprise.

Is a cat a liquid or solid? Little ones will witness answers to such silly questions and many more with Isabel Thomas.

Tickets for the general public are now on sale and cost Dhs60 for adults and Dhs40 for children.

Opting to watch it digitally? Get a Dhs100 pass and watch live-streamed sessions.

Due to social distancing, there will be fewer tickets available for every session, so early booking is recommended.
