Sponsored: And it’s celebrating an anniversary…

Book fans, we have great news. Sharjah Art Foundation’s art book fair returns this November with an exciting line-up of exhibitors and a huge programme.

Now in its fifth edition, Focal Point returns for three days from Friday, November 25 to 27 at Bait Obaid Al Shamsi – a heritage house in Sharjah’s historical district. You can visit the book fair for free, but registration is a must.

Bibliophiles can expect to see a line-up of 100 local and international, plus a weekend packed with fun activities including book launches, talks, artist meetups, workshops and musical performances. Visitors will be able to check out a selection of publications by artists’ presses, bookmakers, self-publishers and non-commercial cultural producers as well as artist-made products.

FOCAL POINT

The book fair will consist of three main sections: International which includes works from art and independent publishers in the global art community, Edit which is curated publications and special interest books not distributed by local retailers, and Local which are publications from within the UAE’s arts community.

You will even be able to check out programmes presenting new publication releases from artists, and authors as well as the winners of the Sharjah Art Foundation Publishing Grant.

If you’re loving the creative vibes and want to stay, explore the ongoing exhibitions at the Sharjah Art Foundation.

It’s on view only until December 11. You can also check out Watch and Chill 2.0: Streaming Senses and discover a range of rarely-seen moving image artworks.
