Aljada megaproject: 4 hotels, 3 schools, an entertainment complex, and more
Sharjah’s largest-ever project will be home to a whopping 75,000 people by 2028…
The UAE is home to some wow-worthy developments and architectural marvels, and the emirate of Sharjah is no exception…Construction is already well underway on Sharjah’s ambitious megaproject, Aljada.
Across 24 million square feet, Aljada will see the emirate of Sharjah transformed with hotels, schools, a shopping mall, a business district, an observation deck, an entertainment complex designed by Zaha Hadid Architects, and much more.
Here’s everything we know about Aljada so far:
The futuristic development is conveniently located seven minutes from Sharjah Airport and 20 minutes from Dubai Airport. Set to be completed by 2028, the self-sustained city is expected to be home to a whopping 75,000 people, according to The National.
Described as the “downtown of new Sharjah”, Aljada is a unique urban development that will have over 250,000-square-metres of green space and five kilometres of parks.
Visitors will be able to choose from a total of four hotels, three of which belong to Emaar Hospitality: Vida Aljada, Rove Aljada, and Address Aljada.

Additional facilities will include a Bounce trampoline park, a wellness district, a convention centre, a tree-lined boulevard, Sharjah’s largest gym with an elevated running track around it, an observation deck, and a showpiece water feature.
What’s currently open at Aljada?
Since construction started back in 2018, a number of residential towers and facilities within the Aljada community are already open to the public and residents. For example, visitors can check out the outdoor drive-in cinema, a skate park, gyms, shops, swimming pools, parks, a farmers market, cycle paths, and a food district.
For now, Aljada is accessible by car only but public buses are set to stop at Aljada in the future. We can’t wait to see this exciting new project develop.
