Abu Dhabi's Sheikh Zayed Festival opens this weekend
The capital’s own annual family fest is almost here…
The temperatures have dipped in Abu Dhabi, the crowds are out and about, and it is that time of year again. We are only days away from the start of this year’s Sheikh Zayed Festival, which kicks off this Friday, November 17 in Al Wathba.

The fun family fest is about to wow capitalites, as the highly-anticipated annual entertainment extravaganza kicks off with several events and activities making their debut at the festival. Some exciting attractions we can look forward to in 2023 include a heritage village focusing on traditional industries and crafts, with plenty on offer for families. There’s also going to be strong participation from other countries, with popular folk artists entertaining attendees.
A beloved annual cultural and entertainment extravaganza, the festival is a glittering highlight on Abu Dhabi’s annual event calendar, with past editions bringing residents and visitors a plethora of thrilling activities including the popular Extreme Weekends, a car and motorcycle stunt show, and record-smashing fireworks shows.
The Sheikh Zayed Festival is also home to an unmissable selection of stalls, performances, dining delights comprising restaurants and food trucks, exciting exhibits and sky-lighting fireworks displays. For those of you who are coming through the gates for active adventures, you won’t be disappointed with plenty to look forward to including the Fun Fair City, an ice rink, the Emirates Fountain plaza and a children’s theatre. There’s also karting, paintball and much more, brought to you by the adventure aces at Al Forsan International Sports Resort.
