RTA unveils 322km/h flying taxi at Museum of the Future
The future is here, literally…
A 322km/h flying taxi prototype has been unveiled.
Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is now displaying the Joby Aviation aerial vehicle at the Museum of the Future.
The prototype sheds light on Dubai’s bright plans for the future, with a target of achieving 25% of self-driving trips by 2030.
The taxis will take off vertically with a maximum speed of 322km/h, an impressive speed given they will be a zero-emission form of transport.
It will be able to carry four passengers plus a pilot with a range of 161 kilometres.
Initially, routes will connect Dubai hotspots including Dubai International Airport (DXB), Downtown Dubai, Dubai Marina and Palm Jumeirah.
RTA say a journey from the airport to Palm Jumeirah will take just 12 minutes compared to 45 minutes by car.
The taxis are scheduled to launch in the first quarter of 2026, and will have a capacity to serve an estimated 170,000 passengers.
