Indian passport fees are increasing in the UAE from July 1
If you need to renew or replace your Indian passport in the UAE, you will soon be needing to pay more
The Embassy of India in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate General of India in Dubai have announced a revised fee structure for passport and related consular services, with the new prices coming into effect from Tuesday, July 1, 2026. The updated fees apply across the UAE and cover new passports, renewals, urgent Tatkal applications and replacements for lost or damaged passports.
The new charges will be introduced at the Embassy of India in Abu Dhabi, the Consulate General of India in Dubai and the new Indian Consular Application Centres (ICACs) that will handle passport and consular services across the UAE.
The fee increase follows changes made by India’s Ministry of External Affairs under updated passport rules announced on June 20. The revised prices apply to Indian passport services around the world, including in the UAE, where an estimated 4.5 million Indian nationals live.
Here’s what you’ll pay
A standard 36-page passport for adults, whether you’re applying for a new passport or renewing an existing one, will now cost Dhs450, up from Dhs285.
A 60-page passport will increase from Dhs380 to Dhs630.
If you need your passport urgently through the Tatkal service, a 36-page passport will cost Dhs900, while a 60-page passport will cost Dhs1,080.
The biggest price increases are for those replacing a lost or damaged passport.
A replacement 36-page passport will cost Dhs900 under the standard service or Dhs1,350 through Tatkal. A replacement 60-page passport will cost Dhs1,080 under the standard service or Dhs1,530 through Tatkal.
Anyone planning to apply for or renew their Indian passport in the UAE from July 1 should check the new fees before booking an appointment, as the updated prices will apply to all eligible applications submitted from that date.
