This year’s school summer holiday is ELEVEN weeks long! But don’t despair, there are plenty of ways you can keep your kids entertained in the capital over the next few months

01. Sheraton Corniche


The Sheraton’s camp is open for almost all of the summer holiday. They have daily, weekly and 15- and 20-day packages available and on the menu are boat cruises, island picnics, banana boat rides and kayaking adventures, beach volleyball and football session, arts and crafts, zumba and more. The camp is suitable for children aged four to 14.

02. Al Forsan

Camp in Khalifa City takes place in Al Forsan’s air-conditioned sports dome and runs five days a week until the end of August. There are three groups you can sign your children up for: Discoverers is aimed at nippers aged four to five, Adventurers is for six and seven year olds, while Knights is for eight to 14 year olds. Lunch is also available at an additional cost.

03. Beach Rotana


The hotel has a Ramadan camp early June and children can take part in swimming sessions, indoor games and arts and crafts activities. There’ll also be the usual summer camp held here, staring from June 25.

04. My First Gym

The camp here is aimed at children aged three-and-a-half to ten, and will feature themed days, including a Disney Day on Mondays, an Olympics Day on Tuesdays and a Dance Day on Wednesdays.

05. Zayed Sports City


Abu Dhabi’s sports hub reckons its summer camp has the longest opening hours in the city this year – they’re open for business at 8am. Send your kids here for ice skating sessions, bowling, movies, arts and crafts and games.

06. Orange Wheels


Orange Wheels is hosting daily activities to keep bodies and minds active, including science and art classes, plus zumba and percussion sessions for music lovers. The weekly fee of Dhs650 includes snacks and the camp is aimed at kids four and above.

07. Advantage Sports

UAE sports company Advantage is hosting sessions at Abu Dhabi Golf Club this summer for children aged three and up. Activities on offer include tennis, swimming, football, dodgeball, dance, ballet, yoga, jiu-jitsu, arts and crafts, face painting and more.

08. City Football Schools


If your kids love playing ‘the beautiful game’, then send them to the IPIC Arena at Zayed Sports City. City Football Schools are hosting three camps this summer where boys and girls can hone their skills on the pitch and stay active. Every kid who signs up is automatically entered into a competition to win a trip to Manchester including flights, accomodation and a ticket to a Premier League football match. The camps are for kids aged five to 12 and lunch isn’t supplied – you’ll need to pack a box for your kids in the morning.
