Emirates Palace spa undergoes a makeover - and you can, too
What’s On reports on Emirates Palace Spa (formerly Anantara Spa). Find out about signature treatments at the most iconic hotel in Abu Dhabi.
The spa in the city’s most ostentatious hotel has re-opened, offering new services for both men and women. What was the Anantara Spa is now called Emirates Palace Spa. The reception area has been spruced up, and a gent’s barber shop has been added.
Two of its new signature treatments are the unisex Palace Massage and the Customised Facial By Forlle’d. The massage can be tailored: type of oil, limbs to focus on and whether you want to unwind and relax, or have those pesky knots fixed. What’s On requested Thai and lomilomi (Hawaiian) techniques with Balinese oil that’s particularly good for relieving muscle tension. There was also a fair amount of stretching involved, which makes it a good option for those requiring a sports massage.
For the facial, high end anti-ageing products by Japanese company Forlle’d were used, which penetrate the second skin layer (many on the market only penetrate the first). This reduces wrinkles and makes skin look hydrated and plump.
Such posh treatments in regal surroundings come at a steep price: the massage is Dhs785 for 90 minutes, and the facial costs Dhs625 for 75 minutes, but if your wallet can stretch, both are slick, professional and very relaxing.
