Enjoy a date night over a new Omakase menu

The sleek Nikkei restaurant Clay on Bluewaters island has unveiled a new Omakase menu, which can be enjoyed by just 8 guests per evening at the stylish sushi counter. With exclusive interation from Peruvian chef Jolbi, opt for either the 8-course or 12-course menu and tuck into dishes presented straight from the open kitchen, with each served with narrative from the head chef of the story and intentions behind flavours.

Check out a contemporary calligraphy exhibition

Internationally renowned artist Wissam Shawkat brings the second edition of his hugely successful Letters of Love to Alserkal this month. Available to view until November 30, the collection is made up of 50 original artworks all centering around the key theme of love. Shawkat’s research and artistic journey can be summed up in two words; “letters” and “love” and both are at the very heart of his work. His technique, “Calligraforms”, which he pioneered himself, is largely self-taught, and leans away from traditional Arabic calligraphy practices and focuses on the form of the script instead, portraying modern symbolism and highlighting the beauty and multiple angles of his works. The results are spectacular and differ greatly from piece to piece.

Tuck into fine fromage at a cheese workshop

Oceana at Hilton Dubai Jumeirah will be transformed unto a French winter wonderland this week with a pop-up from Le Chalet for its annual Alp’Fest. Returning for its seventh year, it runs from November 15 to 19, with an array of entertaining activities to look forward to. This kicks off with a cheese workshop by cheese master Jean Rodriguez this Tuesday, which will be presented alongside a delicious cheese, grape and charcuterie offering daily at Le Chalet.

Gather your besties for a fitness class with a twist

Check out an extensive global grad show

Prototypes for Humanity is a new exhibition available to view at DIFC for two days only this 16 and 17. Featuring over 100 innovations and their respective innovators from universities around the world. The theme of the show is aimed at raising awareness of global problems, celebrating solutions and catalysing action for positive social and environmental impact.

Thursday November 17

Listen to the soothing sounds of an acoustic set

Catch the last glimpses of the sunset with spectacular views of Ain Dubai at Caesars Palace beach club, Venus, every Thursday and enjoy stunning live music sets. Taking to the mic from 6pm to 9pm is Lebanese/Canadian singer-songwriter Danny Aridi, performing commercial hits you can’t help but hum along to. The team have also curated a special aperitivo menu filled with Italian favourites, and of course, you have to order a pizza or two.

Dine at the hands of a celebrity chef

Celebrity chef Michael Mina returns to his self-titled brasserie at Four Seasons DIFC this week, hosting four-nights at Mina Brasserie to showcase the dynamic restaurant’s new menu.  The Michelin starred chef will be bringing a repertoire of new brasserie-style dishes with his signature touches with inspiration from the Middle East.
