World's 50 Best 2023: These are the Dubai restaurants that made the list
The UAE’s best performer was a newcomer at number 11…
Drumroll please…The highly-anticipated World’s 50 Best Restaurants awards ceremony took place in Valencia last night and two Dubai venues made the list.
Dubai is arguably one of the most exciting cities in the world to eat right now, with a wave of celebrity chef dining and chic homegrown eateries causing a stir.
But it was Dubai’s homegrown fine dining venues that received recognition at this year’s edition of the annual awards, with two of Dubai’s restaurants making the top 50 and another in the extended 51-100 list.
Without further ado, here are the UAE restaurants that made the cut:
11: Trèsind Studio
Dubai’s best-performing restaurant, Trèsind Studio, came 11th, making the Indian fine dining venue the top restaurant in the Middle East and Africa region. A huge year for the much-loved Palm hotspot as they also took away two Michelin stars last month. A reward for its intimate dining experience, charming homegrown clout, a humble head chef with genius ambition, and an ever-evolving menu that elevates modern Indian cuisine into the stratosphere.
46: Orfali Bros
Owned by three Syrian brothers, this gorgeous restaurant moved up 41 places from last year making it into the top 50 for the first time rewarding its imaginative Mediterranean and Arabian-inspired dishes. Their menu is sectioned into four, with dishes made for one, those that are cold and hot as well as a selection of ‘pides’ – an oval-shaped flat bread brimming with toppings and stuffings.
87: Ossiano
This fish-focused restaurant inside a functioning aquarium made the extended list as a new entry. The ingenuity of chef Grégoire Berger, along with a narrative approach to reimagining French cuisine, has seen Ossiano not only debut on this list at number 87, but also 4th place on the MENA’s 50 best list and retain its Michelin Star, all in the last twelve months. Ossiano has the trifecta of luxurious setting, complete with sideshow of 65,000 marine life passing by; unrivalled hospitality that comes from years of expert training; and exquisite presentation of seafood specialities that impresses time and again.
