Big LOLs incoming: The celebrated Egyptian-American comedian and satirist, Bassem Youssef returns to Dubai for a special performance

Looking to enjoy a good belly laugh here in Dubai? There are plenty of comedians jetting in thanks to the Dubai Comedy Festival in October, but the laughing gas doesn’t stop, as come November, Egyptian-American comedian and satirist Bassem Youssef will be in Dubai.

His solo performance takes place on Sunday, November 16, at the Coca-Cola Arena. The comedian is no stranger to Dubai, having performed a number of times over the past few years. So if you missed him before, grab your tickets before the show sells out.

Youssef has a rather interesting and remarkable history. He was once a heart surgeon in Cairo but his career took a very different turn in the middle of the Arab Spring when he found himself at the centre of political upheaval. He went on to host the largest satire show in the history of the Arab world.

His humour can be described as fearless, and it has earned him international acclaim as ‘The Egyptian Jon Stewart.’ However, it has also led to interrogation, arrest, and ultimately prompted his escape to the United States. After years of building a global reputation, he will once again bring his powerful blend of satire and storytelling to Dubai.
