Metropolis is getting an upgrade

Warner Bros World Abu Dhabi is expanding its line-up of thrills with not one, but two new DC-themed attractions, including a brand-new Superman experience set to launch later this summer.

Announced by Miral in partnership with Warner Bros Discovery, the additions will bring Kryptonite Collider and Superman Up and Away to the award-winning indoor theme park, adding even more action-packed adventures to the mix.

Excited? The good news is that you won’t have to wait long for one of them. Kryptonite Collider opens on July 26, 2026, bringing an all-new adrenaline rush to Metropolis.

The high-energy attraction drops guests into a revolutionary centrifuge-style experience at the heart of Warner Bros World’s Metropolis land.

Powered by kryptonite and a healthy dose of chaos, the action starts before you even step onto the ride. While queuing, guests become ‘test subjects’ for Lex Luthor’s Everyman Project, with infomercial-style videos drawing them deeper into the villain’s world.

Then comes the main event: a 32-person centrifuge-style ride vehicle that sweeps riders through intense motion, immersive effects, onboard audio and dramatic lighting. The experience ends with interactive digital screens revealing your newly unlocked superhuman abilities.

As for Superman Up and Away, fans will need a little more patience, with the attraction expected to open in 2028. Set to be a next-generation flying roller coaster, riders will launch face-down alongside Superman as they soar through Metropolis on a high-speed mission to save the city.

Jonathan Brown, Chief Portfolio Officer at Miral, said the new attractions reinforce the company’s long-standing partnership with Warner Bros Discovery and its ambition to deliver world-class immersive entertainment.

He added that the additions will create new memorable experiences for visitors while further strengthening Yas Island’s position as a leading entertainment destination and supporting Abu Dhabi’s tourism ambitions.
