It’s not even summer yet, but the UAE weather is already in the 40s

Temperatures are set to climb across the UAE over the coming days, with some inland areas forecast to reach a scorching 48°C. Humidity is also expected to increase overnight and into the early mornings, bringing the possibility of fog and mist in some parts of the country.

And while temperatures are already firmly in the 40s, summer hasn’t officially started yet. The season begins on June 21.

How hot will it get in the UAE?

According to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM), Sunday June 14 will be generally fair across the UAE, with occasional cloud cover developing over eastern areas throughout the day.

Dubai and Abu Dhabi are both expected to record highs of 41°C and lows of 28°C on Sunday, while inland areas could reach 48°C, with lows of 26°C.

On Monday, temperatures are expected to remain high, with Dubai forecast to see highs of 41°C and lows of 29°C, while Abu Dhabi could climb to 44°C with overnight temperatures of 30°C. Inland areas are once again expected to peak at 48°C.

By Tuesday, a slight drop in temperatures is forecast. Dubai is expected to reach 40°C, while Abu Dhabi will see highs of 39°C. Inland areas could still reach 45°C.

Humidity levels on the rise

Humidity levels are expected to increase overnight and into Monday morning, particularly across some coastal and inland areas.

In some coastal regions, humidity could reach as high as 90%, increasing the likelihood of fog or mist forming during the early hours.

What about the wind?

Light to moderate southwesterly to northwesterly winds will blow across the country at speeds of 10 to 20km/h, occasionally freshening and reaching up to 30km/h.

Sea conditions are expected to remain slight in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea.
