Cake in the desert! DNCE performing in Dubai next month
There’s a Halloween-themed party coming to Dubai, and here’s who you’ll see on stage…
Love Joe Jonas? Love eating cake by the ocean? You’re in luck.
Joe Jonas and his band DNCE have been added to the list of artists to perform at the upcoming Fiesta De Los Muertes at the Autism Rocks Arena on October 28.
Since their formation in summer 2015, DNCE have had a string of hits. Most notably, Cake By The Ocean. Wait, what? What an inconvenient food to bring to the beach. You’ll have barely taken a step before the icing’s littered with sand.
Their song about toothbrushes did pretty well, too.

WHO ELSE IS PLAYING?
DNCE will be performing alongside other confirmed stars, including Major Lazer, All Saints, The Mariachis and Hollophonic.
The All Saints were the thinking-woman’s Spice Girls of the mid-nineties:
And Major Lazer’s recent Justin-Bieber-voiced mega-hit Cold Water has seen 14 million views on YouTube in just six days:
Thomas Ovesen, the CEO of of 117Live says, “What a great addition to our brand new Halloween-themed festival, and with DNCE now on the bill we are also thrilled to be welcoming Joe Jonas to Dubai for the very first time.”
MORE ABOUT DNCE
After the Jonas brothers split up, both Nick and Joe went on to release a string of smash hits (Nick’s a bit darker and more moody, and Joe’s pure pop anthems).
When it came to Joe, he rounded up some old buddies from the road – including guitarist JinJoo Lee, bassist Jack Lawless and drummer Cole Whittle – to create DNCE.
He had apparently been looking to launch an offbeat pop project for a while inspired by the melodic R&B of band Earth, Wind & Fire and Hall & Oates: “I had this vision for about five or six years,” he explained, “but I took some time to hit the reset button and figure out what I wanted to do next.”
If you want to nab tickets for the event, you can buy them at 117Live’s website, they start from Dhs350.
