Dubai Canvas is bringing its 3D street art to La Mer
The colourful art festival returns to Dubai in March.
Now, this sounds like a match made in heaven. It’s just been announced that Dubai Canvas, the 3D art festival that has adorned the pavements and walls of City Walk and JBR in previous years, will be coming to La Mer next month.
The annual festival, which sees the world’s leading 3D artists flock to the city to create one-of-a-kind optical illusions, will take place from March 1 to 7.
Public spaces at La Mer, the vibrant new beachfront district in Jumeirah, will be converted into open-air canvases for artists to create and display their work.
While details of the participating artists and art forms will be announced in the coming weeks, three artists have already been confirmed – Italian artist Cuboliquido, who won last year’s Dubai Canvas 3D Art Award, as well as second place winner Danila Shmelev from Russia, and third place winner Leon Keer from the Netherlands.
Here’s a picture of Cuboliquido’s winning piece at City Walk:

La Mer is already home to some pretty amazing street art, so we can’t wait to see what it will look like once the artists have worked their magic. Plus, as well as the 3D art displays, there will also be workshops and street performances.
The festival is free to check out, so we’ll see you there…
