Here's why your phone says "Happy UAE"
Just in time for International Happiness Day…
Over the weekend, you might have noticed a little message in the top lefthand corner of your phone that says “HAPPY UAE”.
Like this:
What’s that all about? Well, it’s because International Happiness Day is coming up on March 20. The UAE’s own Journey of Happiness (a five-day festival celebrating all things positive) kicked off on Thursday, with a Happiness Carnival taking place on the streets of City Walk.
Both Etisalat and du changed their network name for the occasion.

Many UAE residents seem to be fans of the simple yet powerful gesture…
When your network turns into Happy UAE #UAE #Dubai #Happy_UAE #YearofGiving #Morning #du.

It’s not the first time a special message has appeared. In September, the networks changed their name to the words “UAE KSA TOGETHER” to show support for Saudis on their National Day.
