The store has downsized, but don’t worry – it’s still the UAE’s biggest book store.

Bookworms, rejoice – after a two-week closure, the beloved Kinokuniya store has re-opened in a new location in Dubai Mall.

The store is now located opposite the Metro link on the second floor, beside the Sony and Sharaf DG stores.

Here’s a map showing exactly where you can find it (it’s not far from the old spot):

This is the new view that will greet you as you walk towards the booklover’s delight:

And here’s a peek at what the new store looks like on the inside (mmm, you can practically smell all those fresh books):

You might recall the store’s previous location was also on the second floor, beside the Virgin Megastore.

The 68,000 square-foot space stocked more than half a million books and a thousand magazines in English, Arabic, Japanese, French, German and Chinese.

The old Kinokuniya store was also popular for its cafe, which offered views over the Dubai Fountain and Burj Khalifa. We wonder what is going into the old space? Maybe the huge Apple store that’s rumoured to be opening in Dubai Mall very soon?

Unfortunately, it looks like those stunning vistas have been left behind in the move…

Many fans have also been quick to note that the new space is significantly smaller than the previous store. But Kinokuniya insists it is still the biggest bookstore in the UAE, with the same range and categories – except they’re no longer stocking German and Chinese books, which can be ordered on request.

“We will continue to offer the same friendly and unique service for our book lovers with our finest range of titles and a pleasant ambiance,” Kinokuniya said in a statement.

We’re just pleased to have you back, Kinokuniya.
