When we first saw renderings of the submerged Floating Seahorse villas we thought they’d be one of those out-there Dubai projects that stayed forever in the concept stage and never actually got built. We were wrong.
The first of the 130-or-so Floating Seahorse villas is now completely finished, and sits about 4km off of the Dubai coast in the middle of ‘The World’. The finished Seahorse is currently acting as a show villa for people who are considering actually buying one of the Dhs10 million properties.
Real estate agents and potential floating-home-owners have already been visiting the home and, naturally, have been taking brag-worthy Instagram photos while there. Here’s a glimpse…
The villas are three storeys – with an upper deck, a floor at sea level and then a completely submerged level featuring the master bedroom and ensuite.
Next to each villa is a man-made coral garden that spans 495 square feet. These artificial reefs “will be a protected area in which seahorses can safely live and breed” according to the development company’s CEO Josef Kleindienst.
Here you can see another villa being constructed behind the finished show villa.
Quite the view from one’s own private sunbathing ‘net’.
The ground floor at sea level features plenty of decking, an outdoor shower, a kitchen and a glass bottomed jacuzzi.
A marble-clad bathroom.
Even the stairway is beautiful.
More views of the coral reef (from the bed and the bath).
How’s the serenity?
Apparently 40 of the villas will be finished by the end of the year, and the coral gardens are currently being ‘constructed’.
We’ll, as always, keep you updated.
