There will also be marching bands, roaming performers and store discounts.

Although the official Eid Al Adha holiday is still to be confirmed in the UAE, The Beach at JBR has announced four days of fireworks to mark the occasion.

Every evening from Thursday August 31 to Sunday September 3 at 8.45pm, there will be a spectacular firework display along the beachfront.

It’s going to be one for everyone to enjoy, so expect plenty of family-friendly activities, and a pop-up kids play area for the little ones on the south lawn (that’s the bit opposite Pots, Pans and Boards). Adding to the carnival atmosphere, there will also be a marching band and roaming entertainers.

And there’s more for bargain-hunters too. Several of The Beach’s restaurants and shops are getting in on the action, with discounts throughout the long weekend.

There’s up to 50 per cent off swanky gymwear at Roberto Cavalli Gym, a free gift when you spend Dhs550 at Sephora, and any large eau de parfum perfume is Dhs145 at Victoria’s Secret.

For families, kids eat free at two of JBR’s Italian restaurants; Fratelli La Bufala and Bianca Mozzarella & Co. And for the foodies, there’s a buy-one-get-one-free deal at Urban Lobster Rolls and Fish & Chips, and even limited edition menu additions at Shake Shack.

The official Eid Al Adha announcement is yet to be made in Dubai – it’s based on the sighting of the moon.

However, this year Eid Al Adha is likely to coincide with Arafat Day, which means we should get a four-day weekend from Thursday August 31 to Sunday September 3. As always, we’ll let you you know as soon as we have confirmation.
