And check out the rest of the plane whilst you’re at it…

Picking where to sit on your next flight can be a bit laborious, and trying to figure out the perfect spot from a top-down seat map is, at best, a guessing game.

In order to make things easier (and a little more fun), Emirates has introduced a new virtual reality (VR) service that allows passengers to pick the precise seat that they want on a plane by navigating through a 3D-model of the aircraft.

The visualisation engine, which is accessed either through the Emirates website or app, gives customers an immersive 360-degree look at the first, business and economy cabins of the Dubai airlines’ Airbus A380s and Boeing 777 planes.

“We are pleased to be the world’s first airline to introduce this cutting edge web VR technology, which offers our customers an immersive opportunity to learn more about the fantastic Emirates experience before they step on board,” said Emirates SVP of corporate communications, marketing and branding Alex Knigge.

You’ll need a VR headset like Google Cardboard to fully appreciate the experience which allows you to explore not just the cabins, but also the Onboard Lounge and Shower Spa as well.

We’ll admit, we went straight to check out First Class. Can you blame us?
