A team of England legends got the better of their ‘auld’ rivals Scotland in front of a thrilled crowd at the JA Centre of Excellence, the Three Lions running out 6-4 winners.

It was the third installment of this exciting annual series, with stars like Teddy Sheringham, Lee Clark, Andy Goram and John Collins all taking part a repeat of what was the first official international match to take place, way back in 1872 in London.

Former Tottenham and Manchester United striker Sheringam gave his team the lead, which was extended to 4-1 after 25 minutes. However a rally from the Scots pulled them back to within a penalty kick of equalising, an effort that was blasted over by Andy McLaren, leaving the day’s first scorer to go on and complete his hat-trick.
