What’s On has details of Premier League champions Manchester City in Abu Dhabi, including how to see them play in Al Ain and see them train in Al Jazira.

Football fans will be able to see the English Premier League champions training up close in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday night.

Manchester City, who last weekend won their second title in three years, are in the UAE for an end of season celebration that will see them also play in an exhibition match at Al Ain on Thursday.

Before that, however, the Citizens will train at Al Jazira Football Club’s stadium off Airport Road from 6.30pm, allowing fans to see their idols up close. What’s more, the event is free.

Manager Manuel Pellegrini will lead a session involving all the stars from the Etihad Stadium, including captain Vincent Kompany, star man Yaya Toure and striker Sergio Aguero.

Entry is free and fans from across the UAE are welcome with the chance of getting up close to some of the biggest names in world football.

As well as the players, many of whom will be off to the World Cup in Brazil in the coming weeks, the event at Al Jazira FC will also feature both trophies won by the club in 2013/14. In March, City beat Sunderland to claim the League Cup at Wembley, before last weekend’s triumph in the Premier League.

“Ending our season in Abu Dhabi is the perfect way to celebrate our double trophy win,” captain Kompany said. “I speak for the whole squad when I say how excited we are to visit the fans who fought right to the end with us. It really has become a home from home for City and we can’t wait to share the title winning experience with all those that supported us.”

Boss Pellegrini, added: “To win two trophies in one season is an honour for me, for the players and for the whole club. Going to Abu Dhabi gives us the opportunity to share this special moment with our fans in a country we always look forward to visiting.”

Abu Dhabi-based Manchester City fan Jamal Saleh said: “To have the English Premier League champions coming to Abu Dhabi just days after winning the title is just fantastic. There are more and more City fans in the UAE and it will be a big thing for us all to see the players train in Abu Dhabi. It’s a brilliant way to thank them for winning the title again and hopefully there will be many more to come in future years.”
