G.R.L and Wilkinson will perform at RedFestDXB and complete the star-studded line up of international artists coming to Dubai between February 12 and 13.

The girl band and the drum and bass golden boy complete a star-studded line up that will see Iggy Azalea, Bastille and Ella Eyre take to the stage at Dubai Media City Amphitheatre next month.

G.R.L’s smash hit Ugly Heart was inescapable in 2014, and UK DJ Wilkinson has been busy remixing the likes of Chase & Status and Example in addition to producing his own club tracks Half Light and Dirty Love. Both acts will play the main stage at the festival on February 12 and 13.

The announcement coincides with G.R.L’s release of their latest video, for their new single Lighthouse, an emotional tribute to their band-mate Simone Battle, who died in September last year.

Late last year, Bastille  joined the ever-growing RedFest DXB line-up. The ‘Bad Blood‘ boys are renowned for their festival-friendly tunes, and can count Glastonbury, Reading, Leeds, T in the Park and Coachella as conquests.

The four-piece made their name with 2013 smash hit ‘Pompeii‘, a track which helped them scoop Best Breakthrough Act at that year’s BRIT Awards. Other singles ‘Things We Lost In The Fire‘, ‘Overjoyed‘ and ‘Flaws‘ saw their debut album shift more than two million copies.

The addition of the boys from Britain came in a week that has also seen Rixton – another British quartert – and Tinashe – the 21-year-old soloist who broke through this year with ‘2 On‘ – joining the burgeoning bill.

Rixton, who despite their roots in Manchester, UK, first broke into the mainstream in the US in March this year, are best known for the smash hit ‘Me And My Broken Heart‘. A debut album is expected to drop in the first part of 2015, before which the new single ‘Wait On Me’, which is fast approaching two million views on YouTube (at the time of writing), is released.

Prior to this announcement, the R&B artist Jeremih became the sixth star to be confirmed. The American first broke onto the scene in 2009 with his self-titled album, but has made a huge impact in 2014 with his smash hit ‘Don’t Tell ‘Em‘. He is set to drop his album ‘Late Night‘, featuring collaborations with Flo Rida, Juicy J and Ty Dolla $ign, in November.

The 2014 instalment of the festival brought some big names to Dubai’s Media City Amphitheatre, including Tinie Tempah, Jessie J and Rita Ora.

Cris Cab had been the fifth name added to the 2015. The ‘Liar Liar’ singer/songwriter can boast Pharrell [himself coming to the region in the coming months] among his collaborators and is set to go to strength-to-strength in 2015. His smash hit has more than 34 million views on YouTube and has clocked into the top 10 in 40 countries around the world.

That followed confirmation of the arrival of Ella Eyre.

The London-born songwriter joins Iggy Azalea, The Script and Kiesza on the bill for the festival at Dubai Media City Amphitheatre in February next year.

The 20-year-old, who provided the vocal to Rudimental [click here to read an interview with the boys prior to their Sandance appearance] smash hit ‘Waiting All Night‘, is expecting to continue her development into 2015 following the success of hit single ‘If I Go’.

“Ella Eyre is one of those artist with hits you will know but a live performance that you will absolutely love,” said the team behind the festival.

The announcement came a few weeks after the first raft of names, which included headliner Iggy Azalea, the Australian rapper who has enjoyed a breakthrough year following the release of her debut album ‘The New Classic‘. The track ‘Fancy‘ – with Charli XCX – topped the chats around the world, including in her homeland, the UK, Canada and America.

The Script were revealed as the headline act for day two of the 2015 festival, taking to the stage on the Thursday night of the two-day event on February 12 and 13. The arrival Danny O’Donaghue and co chimes with their current 11-month world tour where they’ve been performing mega hits like Hall of FameThe Man Who Cant Be Moved and If You Could See Me Now to sold-out crowds.

The Irish trio have come a long way since their eponymous self-titled first album was released in 2008, having sold more than 20 million records to date. No doubt thanks in no small part to charismatic front man O’Donaghue’s side project as a judge on the BBC’s The Voice, a position he held for two seasons.

The tour, which featured a huge homecoming show in Dublin Castle earlier this month, is to promote their fourth album No Sound Without Silence, and its first single Superheroes.

RedFestDXB will not the first time the band have performed in the emirate. Last year, they had fans swooning to their special brand of crowd-pleasing pop rock at Dubai Festival City, when they performed at the Emirates Airline Dubai Jazz Festival 2013.

They are joined by Hideaway singer Kiesza – the first star added to the bill – who will be making her Dubai debut at the Media City Amphitheatre. Her now iconic music video sees the songstress pulling some seriously retro dance moves along the streets of New York. It was filmed, impressively, in one long take and has already garnered over 100 million views on Youtube.

The star, real name Kiesa Rae Ellestad, is set to release her debut album Sounds of a Woman in November, so fans of the flame-haired songstress can familiarise themselves with all her singles so far – including Hideaway, Giant in my House and No Enemiesz – before her Dubai appearance.

Next year’s festival season is definitely hotting up, with RedFestDXB organisers Done Events also revealing that outdoor festival Blended will return for its second year on April 30 and May 1 2015.

Both follow What’s On‘s Party In The Park in November this year, which will be headlined by Lily Allen.
