Our top pick of the movies out in cinemas this week is Kubo and the Two Strings, a stunning stop-motion animation with an A-list cast featuring Charlize Theron and Matthew McConaughey.

Here are all the new flicks you’ll be able to go see from today…

Kubo and the Two Strings

It’s been a while since any animation studio could challenge Pixar, but we think Kubo and the Two Strings could give the studio a run for its money. A meticulously created stop motion animation is about a young boy in Japan called Kubo who comes from a family with a strong magical lineage and is sent on a magical quest. it’s visually stunning and has a stellar cast that includes Charlize Theron, Matthew McConaughey, Ralph Fiennes and George Takei. We’re excited to see this one.

Hands of Stone

Robert De Niro made a name for himself in the 80s playing boxer Jake Lamotta in Raging Bull. Now he’s back in the ring this time as a coach. Hands of Stone follows the true story of the legendary Panamanian fighter Roberto Durán, (Édgar Ramírez) and the coach (De Niro) who guides him to greatness.

Kickboxer: Vengeance

From the title to the cast, Kickboxer: Vengeance looks infinitely cheesier than Hands of Stone, but frankly, that makes it all the more appealing to us. The legendary Jean Claude Van Damme plays a Muy Thai coach who comes out of retirement (of course) to train Kurt Sloane (Alain Moussi) and help him avenge the death of his brother at the hands of the fearsome Tong Po (David Bautista, aka, Drax in Guardians of the Galaxy). Definitely a guilty pleasure.

Morgan

In the mood for some sci-fi horror? In Morgan, a group of pioneering scientists find a way to artificially create life, playing with genetics to make a super human using synthetic DNA. The eponymous lead seems perfectly happy as a guinea pig in the lab, but when she throws a tantrum that injures one of the science, a corporate troubleshooter (Kate Mara) is called in to decide whether or not Morgan is a danger to the world and needs to be terminated. It doesn’t end well.
