Our top pick of the movies out in cinemas this week is The Accountant, a tense action thriller starring Ben Affleck.

Here are all the new flicks you’ll be able to go see from today…

The Accountant

Ben Affleck puts aside the Batman cape (for now) and dons a suit to play The Accountant, aka Christian Wolff, a man who suffers from Asperger’s. While he doesn’t make eye contact or pick up on social cues, it turns out that Wolff is a math genius – a skill that makes him very handy to the neighbourhood’s crime lords. Anna Kendrick and JK Simmons also star.

Ouija: Original of Evil

A solid horror film for Halloween. Set in the swinging 60s, it follows Alice (Twilight’s Elizabeth Reaser) and her daughters Lina and Doris, who live in a spooky house and make money by pretending to contact people’s dead loved ones. When Lina suggests adding a Ouija board to their act, it turns out that Doris actually can contact dead people – even her dead father. Needless to say, things quickly take a nasty turn.

My Rebound Girl (Tagalog)

If you need a break from the thrillers and horrors, book tickets to this rom com insteam. My Rebound Girl stars Alex Gonzaga as Rocky, a woman who’s been unlucky in love – only ever being matched with men “on the rebound”. When she meets the handsome Rich (Joseph Marco), she’s determined not to repeat the mistakes of the past, but he has his own emotional baggage.
