Fancy a film? The movies out in Dubai cinemas this week
Our top pick of the movies out in cinemas this week is Moana, the highly anticipated new Disney film, with music from Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda.
Here are all the new flicks you’ll be able to go see from today…
Not since Frozen have we been this excited for a new Disney film. Moana follows the story of a young girl who braves an ocean journey to save her people, helped by Polynesian demigod Maui (Dwayne Johnson, aka The Rock). With stunning visuals, a star-studded cast and music from Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda, we expect amazing things from this one.
Arrival looks like the smartest sci-fi to have come out in a while. The always-excellent Amy Adams is a language expert who’s recruited to communicate with the “arrivals” – a group of mysterious UFOs that have started appearing all over the world. Once contact is made, it becomes clear that there’s more to their visit. Jeremy Renner and Forest Whitaker round out a brilliant cast.
No doubt loads of people will be queuing up for Allied, if only to see if the chemistry between the two romantic leads has any connection to the Brangelina break up earlier this year. Brad Pitt plays Max, a Canadian airman during WWII, who falls in love with French beauty Marianne Beausejour (Marion Cotillard). But years after the war is over, he’s rocked by the news that the woman he loves might be a German spy.
Also out this week:
– Dear Zindagi (Hindi)
– 3000 Nights (Arabic)
– American Honey
– Unmarried Wife (Tagalog)
– Dobara Phir Se (Urdu)
