The ultra-luxe pad just sold for Dhs60 million.

There’s living the high life, and then there’s living in the most expensive penthouse ever sold in Dubai.

One lucky homebuyer has just claimed that eye-watering honour, snapping up a top-floor property in the upcoming Bulgari Resorts and Residences project on Jumeira Bay Island for a whopping Dhs60 million.

That eclipses a previous record set at Fairmont The Palm in 2012, when a penthouse was sold for Dhs42 million, according to Gulf Business.

The 14,000-square foot property is said to boast 270-degree views over Downtown Dubai and out to the sea.

The new owner will be able to enjoy complimentary membership to the world’s first Bulgari Marina and Yacht Club, as well as a 24-hour concierge, pools and fitness facilities, lush gardens, and six high-end restaurants.

But the premium penthouse might not be the only record-breaker.

When it opens late this year or early next year, the development is expected to become Dubai’s most expensive hotel, knocking the Burj Al Arab off its throne.

While prices haven’t been revealed yet, a night at the iconic sail-shaped hotel will currently set you back Dhs10,450 for a deluxe room… so, erm, even more than that.

In total, the 1.7-million-square-foot development will be home to 100 hotel rooms, 20 villas with private pools, 165 serviced one- to three-bed apartments, eight penthouses and 15 mansions.
