Dubai is getting a new citizens housing project
The 763 hectare residential mega project will be in Umm Nahd 3 near the Outlet Mall
A new citizens housing complex for Dubai citizens has been approved by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
The development by Dubai Municipality will occupy a staggering 763 hectares of land when completed. A completion date has not been given.
It will be located near Global Village and The Outlet Mall, in Umm Nahd 3.
The initiative comes as part of the government’s keenness to ensure the wellbeing of its citizens. Included in this is providing all the requirements for a decent life and adequate housing for citizens and their families.
Hussain Nasser Lootah, Director-General of Dubai Municipality, said that the new citizens housing coincides with World Population Day, which is being celebrated this year by the United Nations under the theme, “Family Planning: Empowering People, Developing Nations”, to raise awareness on population issues, including their relations with the environment and development.
Lootah added that in the planning stages of the residential area, urban sustainability and a healthy environment have been at the core. As part of this, there will be dedicated tracks for bicycles and pedestrians, in addition to sporting fields to encourage residents to stay active
Each single plot will cover around 1,100 square meters and span across three floors.
The municipality will soon begin to distribute the housing to citizens, who have been approved by the Mohammed bin Rashid Housing Establishment.
In case you’ve not heard of it, Mohammed bin Rashid housing establishment provides a collection of housing services including grants and loans for some Dubai citizens.
