Looking for weekend plans? Why not check out this free-entry new attraction…

Gamers get excited, there’s a brand new virtual reality attraction at Dubai Mall. Called VR park, the new virtual reality theme park opens its doors today.

The two-storey attraction comes complete with 18 experiences suitable for different ages. Entry to VR park is free, with each activity and experience priced individually from Dhs15 to Dhs45.

Combining augmented reality, virtual reality and experiential attractions, expect to feel like you’re propelling down the side of Burj Khalifa in “Burj Drop”, or hold on tight as your “Dubai Drone Taxi” spins out of control on a rollercoaster adventure ride.

Adrenaline junkies should head to “Plummet”, the skydiving experience giving aerial views of the city, or take on a hair-raising “Dune Bash” experience featuring encounters with camel spiders, scorpions and snakes.

If you haven’t tried Escape Reality, here’s why you should…

Not all of the events are single player. Games such as “The Raft” require players to grab their VR guns and work together to defend the swamp against an infestation of supernatural creeps; players are required to save the city in “Payday: The VR Heist”, and survive a zombie-infested hospital in the apocalyptic “The Walking Dead Outbreak”.

You’ll find something for the little ones, too. The family-friendly “VR Travel Bus” explores cities from around the world, whilst space explorers can man their own spaceship and navigate a world full of aliens and space stations, in “RobocomVR”.

It sounds like a pretty good rainy-day plan to us…
