Welcome to September in Dubai, and as the city starts cooling down, we’ve rounded up some top things to do to keep you busy. From spa and lunch days to free dance classes, and business lunches, comedy nights and a curry challenge thrown in, there’s a huge week ahead.

Sunday September 2

1. Get your toes tapping at a free dance class

From September 1 to 6, James & Alex Dance Studios in Dubai Media City will be offering a variety of drop-in classes where you can try as many styles as you want for free. The studio offers a variety of classes from salsa, to hip hop to ballet, and you can try as many classes as you like through the week.

2. Pamper yourself with spa and lunch

The uber-luxe One&Only The Palm is one of Dubai’s most sought after resorts and over summer, you can enjoy pool access to the picturesque resort that comes with some top extras. For Dhs895 per person through the week and Dhs995 on weekends you can enjoy spa pool access, a 60-minute massage and either a light lunch or afternoon tea. Fancy making a day of it? Monday September 3

3. Dine at a new business lunch

Beefbar in DIFC is now open for lunch, so you can tuck into some hearty meat dishes while impressing clients. Dishes start from Dhs88 for lighter options such as a Power Bowl Salad and Dhs99 for a Tagliata Steak.

4. Checking out some weird and wonderful artefacts

Ripley’s Believe It or Not! is coming to the Middle East for the first time ever this September. The traveling show by the iconic New York museum will open up a pop-up exhibition in Dubai’s Wafi from September 3, and will be free for all mall-goers to check out. Whether you’re into art and sculpture, American history or animal oddities, the exhibition is promising something for everyone.

Tuesday September 4

5. Bag a bargain

Fashionista’s mark your diaries for September 4 as a five-day mega sale is happening in Dubai. Offering up to 75 per cent off brands including Diesel, Guess and Calvin Klein, the sale will take place at Sheikh Rashid Hall, Dubai World Trade Center. Brought to you by Concept Big Brands, the end of season sale will run from 10am to 10pm each day, offering super savings on clothes, cosmetics, perfumes and more.

6. Test your taste buds with the world’s hottest curry

Taking place at both the Barsha Heights and JBR venues on Tuesday September 4 from 10pm, Lock, Stock & Barrel is challenging guests to take on the world’s hottest curry – their red-hot vindaloo. The challenger that finishes first at each venue, will be crowned the winner – bagging themselves a Dhs1000 bar tab and brunch for four.

Wednesday September 5

7. Laugh out loud with a comedy night

One of India’s most famous comedian Jeeveshu Ahluwalia is bringing his laugh-out-loud, crowd based show to Dubai on Wednesday September 5 at PizzaExpress live. The one-night show will be completely improvised with no script involved. Be warned if you’re sat towards the front, there’s plenty of crowd involvement required…

8. Head to a new night market

The ever-popular Tom&Serg will be transforming their Al Quoz cafe into a night market for two days on Tuesday September 4 and Wednesday September 5 next week. As well as serving up some healthy treats, a collection of Dubai-based vendors will all be showcasing their goods for market-goers to get their hands on some top unique pieces.
