The UAE is currently hosting the biennial Asia Cup, a cricket tournament for nations across Asia.

The first Asia Cup was actually hosted in Sharjah back in 1984. Sharjah hosted the tournament again in 1995 but the UAE has not played host since, until now.

Matches are being played at the Abu Dhabi Cricket Club and at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, at Dubai Sports City with the final taking place on September 28th in Dubai.

Six teams are taking part; Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Hong Kong with India the reigning champions.

We recommend anyone to get along to one of the games… they are full of passion and the atmosphere is electric.

And it’s just the start of the sporting season as the winter arrives…

The Asian Cup, which will see 24 national football teams from across Asia compete across the UAE is taking place early in the new year.

Before that events such as The Sevens, DP World Tour Championship and of the course the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix are all just weeks away.
