DXB Cucumber Day is returning to the UAE this year. But no longer just reserved to a day-long celebration, this year will see six weeks of drinks deals take place across Dubai and Abu Dhabi, finishing with a free two-day carnival in October.

For those in the know, DXB Cucumber Day has become a big thing in Dubai, with last year’s celebration seeing participating bars across the city accept cucumbers as payment for various gin-based drinks.

This year it’s back with a bit of a twist and from Sunday, September 8 to Friday October 18, you can visit over 50 bars in Dubai and Abu Dhabi and enjoy a gin-based cocktail for Dhs40.

“No cucumber exchange!” we hear you cry. Fear not, you’ll still be able to exchange your fruit for a drink at the DXB Cucumber Carnival taking place at Soho Garden on Thursday October 17 and Friday October 18.

While the finer details are yet to be revealed for the carnival, the two-day event promises entertainment, live music and yet-to-be-announced headlining acts, so watch this space for more details.

Dubai bars taking part in the limited time drinks offer include The London Project at Bluewaters Island, Bleu Blanc in Business Bay, Soho Garden at Meydan, The Duck Hook at Dubai Hills Golf Club and Folly at Souk Madinat. You can see the full list of UAE bars taking part here.
