1. Stay at home and try a multi-sensory experience online at The Arts Center at NYU Abu Dhabi
Catch a unique, interactive show titled ‘As Far As Isolation Goes’ by Tania El Khoury and Basel Zaraa online via Zoom. The one-on-one 15-minute experience will force you to engage with the inhumanities faced by refugees in detention centres and their experiences with a mental health system that disregards their political and emotional contexts. You will be asked to physically display your emotions by drawing on yourself so keep a medium black permanent marker pen ready. 2. Learn self-defence at a capoeira class
Ever heard of capoeira? It is a unique sport that blends attack and defence with flowing, dance-like movements, acrobatics, music, instruments and songs. A great way to lose those extra pounds while still having fun and learning self-defence tactics. You will be taught by Mestre Caxias from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil where this dynamic sport hails from. The classes run for one hour and there are classes for kids, teens and adults. They take place at Bloom Marina West Al Bateen. One adult class cost Dhs100 and for children, it’s Dhs120 to Dhs150.
