Another exciting development at this creative hub on Reem Island…

Earlier this month we broke the news that Cove Beach Abu Dhabi will be located at Makers District, the exciting new creative hub on Reem Island.

Makers District is a passion project of IMKAN — and it’s just one of a number of architectural wonders the UAE Developer is currently constructing in various locations both within Abu Dhabi, and far beyond.

What’s On received an exclusive communication from the developer offering two tantalising nuggets of news.

“The beach at IMKAN’s Makers District on Reem Island — the home of the new Cove Beach Abu Dhabi — is launching soon and will also be home to an incredible art installation created by a world-renowned artist”.

Could this (top right) be our first birds-eye glimpse of the new artwork?

So, fantastic news that the beach is opening soon, but also — it looks like Abu Dhabi is getting another important artistic jewel to add to its already glittering collection.

Meeting the Makers

PIXEL

In addition to Cove Beach and some innovative residential properties, this 18-hectare space on Reem Island is home to shops, restaurants, a gallery and library, a boutique hotel and co-working spaces.

Within Makers District, exists Pixel which is described on the IMKAN website as “a forward-living community that sparks creativity and collaboration across its residential, hospitality, commercial and retail spaces”.

In the future, you’ll also find The Artery, which seems to be some sort of futuristic part-parking garage, part-event space hybrid.

It’s an intentionally built community hub for creative souls to coalesce and vibe brighter, together.

Elsewhere on Reem of course, there’s the new Reem Mall along with a giant indoor snow park, which we’ll hopefully see in 2021.
