You’ll get to observe Saturn and Jupiter at their biggest and brightest…

We’re always on the lookout for something new to do, and this August, we’ll be looking towards the skies. A yearly phenomena named ‘Opposition’ is happening and it means there’s a chance to see planets Saturn and Jupiter at their biggest and brightest.

A number of astrology-themed events are taking place at Palm Jumeirah’s amazing observation deck, The View, throughout August. It’s found up on the 52nd floor of Palm Tower, offering visitors some incredible 360-degree views of the Palm Jumeirah and other famous Dubai landmarks.

The View has teamed up with Dubai Astronomy group to give you the chance to see the planets up close. Opposition is when the earth is between the sun and opposite planet, and it only occurs with Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune.

To see Saturn at Opposition, attend an event between 8pm and 10pm on August 2, or to see Jupiter at Opposition, attend the event on August 20 at the same time. As well as looking through telescopes, you’ll hear from Dubai Astronomy Group’s CEO, Hasan Ahmad Al Hariri.

There are also a number of astronomy sessions happening throughout the month. These 90-minute events take place on August 6, 7, 13, 14, 21, 27 and 28, from 8.30pm until 10pm. All events are priced at Dhs125 for adults and Dhs95 for children.
