It looks like no sunshine just yet…

There’s no denying that since the heavy rain and storms over New Year’s Eve, the UAE’s January weather has been very unpredictable for the most part. It doesn’t look like that is set to change this weekend, with clouds, low temperatures and strong winds of up to 65km/h predicted.

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has issued a dust warning across the UAE, with reduced visibility expected in some areas – so take note if you’re driving. Some eastern areas have been put under orange alert and told hazardous weather is expected, whilst the rest of the UAE is on yellow alert, and told to be on the lookout for potential visibility impairments.

Here’s what you can expect from the UAE weather over the weekend…

Saturday, January 22

There’s set to be a chill in the air during the day and at night with some cloud and mist formation in some areas. Moderate to strong winds are expected to cause blowing dust. These winds could reach between 40km/h and 65km/h. The sea is set to be rough to moderate.

Sunday, January 23

Clouds are expected in some parts of the UAE on Sunday with some humidity and a chance of fog formation in some parts. Light to moderate winds are predicted and the sea should be moderate to slight.

Monday, January 24

Temperatures are set to increase slightly on Monday with fair weather and some clouds. There will be light to moderate Northwesterly winds, freshening at times over the sea, with a speed of 15 to 25 reaching 35 km/hr.

Tuesday, January 25

It’s much the same on Tuesday: fair in general and partly cloudy at times. Humidity is expected by night and Wednesday morning with a chance of fog or mist formation over some internal and coastal areas. Light to moderate Northwesterly winds, with a speed of 15 to 25 reaching 35 km/hr are expected.
