First look: Antonia opens doors at Al Zeina location

Abu Dhabi’s own beloved Italian brand, Antonia, has finally opened the first of its two new eagerly-anticipated locations, at the capital’s mixed use development, Al Zeina as of Sunday, October 22.

The brand-new addition to a brand that has become synonymous with Abu Dhabi’s Italian dining scene, adds on to their existing location in the gorgeous white-and-turquoise Mamsha Al Saadiyat area, with a 150 square metre space that includes Antonia’s signature teal and red hues, studded with iconic Italian art and accented by beautiful, black and white interiors. A stroll around the property will also introduce you to dainty, elegant hand-painted plates from Italy’s Amalfi coast.
So what’s cooking at Antonia in Al Zeina?
While the Al Zeina location will include a smaller, more compact menu, it will continue to feature several of Antonia’s renowned favourites, such as Nonna’s famous meatballs, as well as specials such as the Calamari Croccanti with lemon and tartar sauce, the La Scarpetta beef ragu and the Orechiette alle Cimi di Rapa, with turnip tops, anchovies and Pecorino. And as much as the Mamsha location has proven to be a hit with seekers of Italian fare in Abu Dhabi, the brand-new trattoria will include special starters such as the Scarpetta, Bruschetta and a sharing Aperitivo board unique to the location.
If you prefer to enjoy your Antonia favourites from the comfort of your home, order pick-ups are up-and-running, with delivery options in the works.
The brand’s third location, at The Galleria Al Maryah Island, is expected to welcome diners before we’re into the new year and we’re excited every time we pass by the sign or as we descend down the escalator, about what the makers of Abu Dhabi’s first homegrown Pizza al Taglio are about to serve up next…
