Screens will be operating at a maximum 30 per cent capacity for the moment…
Now showing
Yesterday Abu Dhabi Emergency, Crisis and Disasters Committee signed off on the reopening of the capital’s cinemas.
They were temporarily ordered to stop operations on February 5, 2021 as part of a proactive effort to avoid extending the marginal surge in Covid 19 cases at the time.

The return of big screen action, comes with a fresh cast of operating regulations to ensure public safety remains the central concern.
Leading that cast, is a requirement for theatres to cap the maximum screen occupancy at 30 per cent of a full house.
Cinemas have also been given renewed instructions on adherence of using face masks, maintaining physical distance, and of course regular deep sanitising.

Last week we reported on the news that some cinemas in Abu Dhabi could be serving adult beverages in their premium, restaurant service seating.
The news came from a Department of Culture and Tourism — Abu Dhabi (DCT) circular, but as yet we have had no official confirmation from the DCT or cinema chains as to whether licenses have or will be granted.
