Breaking: Usher joins Yasalam line up as surprise After Race Party act
Part three of our confession…
Just when we thought they’d said all they could say, they posted and said they’ve got one more on the way. That’s right race fans, the godfather of R&B, Usher is coming to Abu Dhabi for the November 17, F1 Yasalam After Race Concert.
After the drivers have ‘Burn(ed)’ round Thursday’s qualifying laps, the eight-time-Grammy winning American recording artist will add an experienced hand to the mic, sharing the evening’s F1-esta with UK rapper, Dave. That, is a Double A* billing.
Shock addition to the line-up, Usher (we don’t think anyone outside the circle of trust was expecting another announcement) genuinely is one of the biggest names in music. He’s sold over 80 million records worldwide, has racked up 18 American Billboard Music Awards, 34 ASCAP Awards, nine Soul Train Music Awards, and eight American Music Awards. The man is a phenomenon.

There’s no possible way Usher will be able to include every hit from his thirty-year career into the evening without ‘Crash(ing)’. His back catalog includes such club floor bangers such as ‘Yeah’, ‘DJ Got Us Fallin’ In Love’, and ‘OMG’ where he’d frequently assert his dominance as pop’s shape-throwing G.O.A.T.
But he’s probably best known for his syrup-toned slap tracks — we’re thinking here specifically of both parts of his ‘Confessions’ dynasty, ‘U Got It Bad’, ‘U Remind Me’, ‘My Boo’, and ‘Nice & Slow’.
The other F1 artists
He joins EDM maestros, Swedish House Mafia — headlining the show on Friday, November 18 and member of the rap aristocracy, Kendrick Lamar taking his brooding philosophical bars to the stage on Saturday, November 19.
And, following an October 28 announcement — UK rap sensation, Dave (AKA Santan) who will also be taking the stage on Thursday November 17, and veteran British rockers, Def Leppard who’ll be closing out the weekend with a performance on Sunday, November 20.
And the only way to see them play, is to hold track tickets for whichever day the artist is performing. You cannot purchase concert tickets separately. And unfortunately, this year’s F1 is now completely sold out. The Golden Circle passes for ticket holders are still available.
