Sizzling new dinner and a show restaurant Babylon to open in DIFC
From next month, prepare to be dazzled by Babylon’s luxurious dining and dramatically orchestrated show…
It might be easy to think the DIFC dining scene has got it all, but new restaurant Babylon is promising to bring something new to the haute dining scene when it opens next month. Located in Gate Village 5 and taking the place of Gaucho, Babylon’s sophisticated interiors and sultry decor set the stage for an evening of fun fine dining and extraordinary entertainment.
Influenced, somewhat tellingly, by the bygone city of Babylon, this new DIFC restaurant promises to embody this former wonder of the ancient world. Known as a place of maximalism and opulence, this splendour will be showcased throughout rich interiors, a menu of gourmet delights and vibrant entertainment set to dazzle guests.
The burgundy-hued palette is interlaced with tactile textures, bold floral patterns and beautiful ornaments that give the venue a sultry and eccentric aesthetic. Across the split-level space, intimate tables and cosy booths have been cleverly positioned to ensure all guests get front row seats to the theatre-like stage. Here, a regular rotation of masterfully choreographed acts that will sing, dance and entertain guests with an array of decadent, high-energy sets, with the brand promising extravagant costumes and lots of surprises. We’re already excited.
When guests can tear their eyes away from the stage, a culinary show awaits on their plate, with refined sharing dishes the star of the show. Internationally influenced and inspired by Babylon’s historic essence as a gathering place for pure conviviality, executive chef Carlos De Los Mozos describes his menu as ‘revisited neo-classical cuisine’ that promises to be “unique, fun and designed to serve the purpose of entertaining.” We’ve got high hopes for some serious show-stoppers mixed into this menu.
To pair with dinner, the drinks menu promises to be as avant-garde as the decor, with Babylon’s mixology inspired by the four elements: earth, air, fire and water. From their cocktail menu, you’ll be able to pick from a selection of sweet, sour and sharp flavours to sip on as you enjoy the show.
Babylon is the latest addition to Addmind Hospitality’s ever-expanding restaurant portfolio, which already includes DIFC hotspots Clap and Sucre, as well as beloved alfresco bars Iris and Bar du Port. So, we’ve got high expectations as we wait for Babylon to open its doors…
