Great news for motorists: petrol prices are going down further in October and will be almost the same as before the fuel market was deregulated in the UAE.

The Ministry of Energy announced the new prices on Monday, and while diesel has gone up slightly, petrol is going down.

In July, which was the last month fuel was subsidised, Special 95 was Dh1.72 a litre. Next month it will be Dh1.79.

From October 1 Super 98 will be Dhs1.90 a litre (the price has been set at Dhs2.07 in September); Special 95 will be Dhs1.79 (going down from Dhs1.96) and the diesel price will be Dhs1.89 per litre (the September price being Dhs1.86).
