UAE weather: Rain, thunder hits parts of Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Northern Emirates
Pull out those umbrellas…
Attention all – the cloud cover is bearing fruit, because rain has hit many parts of the country this morning, including parts of Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Northern Emirates.
Earlier this week, the National Center of Meteorology (NCM) announced about a chance of rain over the next few days as cloudy weather is expected in northern and eastern parts of the country, increasing the chance of light to moderate rainfall. Temperatures also took a significant drop, around 20°C and with lows to be between 8 to 14°C.

Light rain and showers started early this morning and have been reported Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, Rashidiya, the airport, Mamzar, and parts of Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and Ras Al Khaimah.
Rain had already been reported in various places around the country on Sunday this past week such as Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah. There are also rough seas across the Arabian Gulf and light to moderate winds predicted, with possibilities of reaching 40 km/hr. The NCM office has also warned of dusty conditions as these wind speeds increase

During rainfall, motorists are advised by The National Centre of Meteorology to stay safe on the roads in affected areas. Drivers are instructed to drive only when necessary, turn on low-beam headlights when visibility is reduced and keep up to date with the forecasts via official channels.
