UAE public invited to take part in new national pledge campaign

A UAE-wide “Pledge & Commitment” campaign has been launched in honour of President HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Led by Sandooq Al Watan under Erth Zayed Philanthropies, the initiative is part of its community outreach efforts and encourages citizens and residents to take part in a shared message of unity and loyalty.

Dubai launches major push into wellness and healthcare

Dubai has taken another step towards becoming a global hub for healthcare innovation with the launch of the Dubai Longevity Authority (DLA), a new entity dedicated to advancing longevity, wellness and cutting-edge healthcare. The authority was established by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. The authority’s role will extend across the entire longevity ecosystem, from research and development and clinical trials to manufacturing, treatment delivery and patient care. It will establish a science-led regulatory framework for emerging therapies and innovations designed to improve quality of life and support healthier ageing.

Dubai Harbour bridge connecting to Sheikh Zayed Road is now 90% complete
The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced that the new bridge linking Sheikh Zayed Road to Dubai Harbour is now 90% complete. Once open, the Dhs431 million project is expected to ease congestion across Dubai Marina and Dubai Media City, with a capacity of 6,000 vehicles per hour in both directions. It is said to be ready for use by this month.

Dubai launches Active Summer initiative

Dubai is turning up the heat on summer fitness with the launch of a major new sporting initiative designed to keep residents moving all season long, regardless of the temperature outside. The citywide programme runs until August 31, 2026, featuring a packed calendar of indoor and outdoor sporting events across the emirate. Among the headline events is the Dubai Mallathon, taking place from June 15 to September 15. The indoor running and walking series will be hosted in fully air-conditioned shopping malls across the city.

Apple’s AI-powered Siri: rollout timeline for UAE devices

After getting spoilt with technology like ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini, iPhone’s Siri was in desperate need of an upgrade. And Apple finally unveiled the update at WWDC this week with the news that iOS 27 could finally deliver what users have been waiting for. Whilst we don’t have a precise date for that just yet for users in the UAE, it will almost certainly fall in September 2026.
