The U-Dream Headrest is now taking to the skies on selected Emirates flights

After a viral video of a new adjustable, cushioned headrest in Emirates economy class spread across social media, passengers were curious to know more. And now the airline has confirmed it’s set to transform its Economy Class cabins with the game-changing U-Dream Headrest: a cushioned, adjustable headrest designed to offer better support and a more relaxing cabin experience.

What does it do?

The U-Dream headrest is part of the Z400 seats by Safran Seats, and features adjustable ‘wings’ that fold up to create a cushioned, pillow-like support that can be adjusted in height and alignment to provide a cradled side support that prevents excessive head movements. The aim, aside from increased comfort, is to reduce neck fatigue, particularly on long-haul flights.

Which flights are they available on?

Right now, the U-Dream Headrest has been introduced on three A350 aircrafts, with the airline accelerating the roll-out as quickly as possible. By the end of the year, all A350 aircrafts will have the headrest installed, and will come already installed on the 270 Boeing 777Xs that Emirates already has on order.

From 2027, the adjustable headrest will be launched across economy class cabins on a selection of the retrofitted A380s and Boeing 777s already in the Emirates fleet.

Prepare for take-off…
