Hailed as New York’s most private nightclub, Provocateur has confirmed details of its opening in Dubai.

As What’s On revealed back in July, the hot new spot will be at Four Seasons Resort at Jumeirah Beach, which this month opened its doors for the very first time.

In official information released by the team, the club ‘is set to be the first luxury electronic music venue in the city’ and is ‘destined to become the “Heart of Electronic Music” in Dubai. It’s a bold claim, but the fact the original outlet in the USA can claim regular sets from the likes of Calvin Harris, Seth Troxler, Jamie Jones, Deadmau5, Luciano, Marco Carola, Axwell, Richie Hawtin, Steve Angello, Tiesto and many more, it seems their front is well placed.

Signature elements including ‘surreal dollhouse imagery and state-of-the-art lighting features’ are all in keeping with the New York venue, while the rest of the design ‘totality radiates glamour and sophistication’. The team also claim it ‘sits in distinct contrast to the city’s existing nightlife landscape and is a truly unique version of its New York counterpart’.
Provocateur is the first American nightlife brand to enter the UAE, and comes hot on the heels of Pacha Ibiza Dubai, as well as more long-standing brands like Mahiki, Chinawhite, Movida and more.

“The growth of the industry particularly here in Dubai is phenomenal,” said Brian Gefter, who co-owns with Michael Satsky. “Our goal is simply to stay true to the Provocateur brand’s ethos and set the standard for a unique experience in the country.”

It is expected to open in December.

Four Seasons is making quite a splash with a series of high profile announcements. World-leading restaurant brands including Nusret from Turkey and London’s Coya are already confirmed, while celebrity chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten – whose self-titled restaurant in New York has three Michelin stars – will open his second and third UAE ventures on the site.

Speaking in July about the hotel as a whole, General Manager Simon Casson insisted it will be different from the usual big, brash buildings dotted around Dubai, choosing instead to be “an intimately scaled, luxurious enclave of comfort and style”.

Standing at just five stories high, he seemingly has a point. The resort spreads across 14 acres and has 237 guest rooms and suites offering either Burj Khalifa or sea views. The spa, so the hotel say, will ‘become a resort unto itself’, encompassing 706 square metres of the property.

Outside, the Four Seasons stretches out along almost 300 metres of natural beachfront, allowing for an on-site watersports facility, as well as two pools and several day villas, home to ‘super cabanas’.
