Move over California: There’s a new Muscle Beach in Dubai
What’s On has details of a new outdoor gym in Dubai, Muscle Beach Dubai by The Warehouse Gym. It’s located at The Beach opposite JBR.
With their bicep-bulging handstands and eye-popping pull-ups, generations of buffed and bronzed athletes have ruled the sands at California’s Muscle Beach for decades, but it seems there’s a new contender for best Muscle Beach – and it’s right here in Dubai.
Muscling in on California’s reign as having the biggest – and baddest – outdoor Muscle Beach is a brand new beachside fitness zone operated by the team behind the big and burly Warehouse Gym in Al Quoz. Still in its soft opening phase, Muscle Beach Dubai by The Warehouse Gym aims to encourage more people to get active whilst enjoying the beautiful weather here while there’s still time.
Speaking to The National about the launch of the new outdoor gym, Kevin Teixeira co-founder of The Warehouse Gym, said: “Training outside is a very liberating feeling and can be quite spiritual, especially first thing in the morning when it’s just you, the ocean and the sand”.
“There are a lot of people who want to exercise when they’re on holiday, but sometimes to be inside feels like a waste of your holiday. This way, you can combine being outside with being active”.
Complete with weight lifting equipment, CrossFit apparatus, rope climbs, kettle bells, rowing machines and jumpboxes, the new outdoor facility located at The Beach opposite JBR has all the fitspiration you’ll need. They will also be staff on site to assist gym-goers with their workouts.
Aside from private training options, fitness fans can opt to join one of the group classes, which include commando circuit classes, spinning and CrossFit.
Entrance fee to Dubai’s muscle beach costs Dhs60 from Sunday to Thursday and Dhs90 on weekends. Current opening hours are from 7am to 6pm but times will extend once the flood lights are operational.
