The annual Taste of Australia dinner returns to the capital this week.

Hosted at the Four Seasons Abu Dhabi on Thursday September 29 by the Australian Business Group Abu Dhabi, the one-night event will feature a special three-course meal cooked by Fatafeat TV chef Tarek Ibrahim.

Using Australian meat and produce sourced from Victoria and Queensland, chef Ibrahim said, “The menu, which will feature beautiful cuts. We are doing lamb, we’re doing tongues, we’re doing veal cheek, tenderloin and oyster blade. Mostly they are cuts that are not known to a lot of people. It is just not familiar. We want to introduce these jewels of meat to people, as they have incredible flavour.”

In addition to the food, the event will also feature Indigenous artwork from The Australian National Museum’s travelling exhibition The Canning Stock Route, which is currently on loan to the Australian embassy in Abu Dhabi. Their will also be live music from Aussie musicians Jaymie De Boucherville and Daniel Talbot as well.

And it’s not just Australians who can attend the event. “This dinner is an opportunity to gather together and enjoy each other’s company and be served some of Australia’s world-class food and produce,” said Arthur Spyrou, Australian Ambassador to the UAE.
