Marina Mall is getting bigger
Shopaholics will be glad to know that Marina Mall is set to get even bigger.
The Dhs3 billion renovation will see 120,000 square metres added to shopping centre. Designed by the architecture firm behind the Dubai Mall, the extension will be divided into two parts, on the north and south side of the mall. Expect to see more retail shops, food and beverage outlets and a larger car park.
The existing mall will also get a 300 million dirham upgrade too.
Construction should start in the first quarter of next year and is expected to be completed by 2019.
“We are entering an exciting phase of Marina Mall’s development, as we continue our journey to deliver an excellent visitor experience,” added Jihad Dirani, Head of Leasing at Marina Mall Abu Dhabi. “We are currently in the process of selecting the right suppliers and contractors; whilst looking to evolve our leasing portfolio.”
Other new developments in the area include the new Atlantis-like Fairmont Hotel, which is expected to open in September of next year, as well as the Marina Promenade, a seafront walkway that will include an amphitheater, restaurants, a helipad, mosque and more.
