You can now simply tap-and-pay to refuel at the pump…

As Dubai strives ever-forward in its goal to be the world’s smartest city, the RTA announced today that motorists will now be able to pay for petrol across all 118 ENOC service stations using their Nol cards.

Not only will customers be able to simply tap-and-pay refuel at the pump (meaning no need to hop out of the car and type in a pin-code), the service also extends to other ENOC outlets including Zoom, Pronto and Paav’s Pizza which are commonly found adjacent to many of the company’s stations.

The partnership comes on the heels of an announcement back in July that 1,000 retail outlets across Dubai had begun accepting Nol cards as a form of payment, with that number expected to hit 5,000 by year’s end.

“The growing use of smart devices is driving the adoption of cashless payments. Enabling payments through Nol cards demonstrates our commitment to the Smart City initiative; to enable and drive innovation across all our businesses, and to enhance customer experience.” explained Saif Humaid Al Falasi, Group CEO of ENOC.

Before today, the service was already available at Zoom outlets located at many of Dubai’s metro stations, but this roll-out should see the total number of eligible outlets increase to 221, making it super useful for those that are restricted in their shopping options outside of the popular minimart.

Just be sure to hang tight to your Nol card if you’re going to fill up with funds to pay for both your petrol and your groceries.
