From ladies’ days to new club openings, here’s where it’s at this week…

Looking for some top places to party this week? Well, you’re in the right place.

Ahead of closing for August, Drai’s is throwing one last ladies’ day party, a new nightclub is set to shake up the clubbing scene in Dubai Marina, and there’s crowd-karaoke party brunches and retro after-parties that will guarantee you a good night out.

Here are six of the best parties in Dubai this week.

Tuesday: Ladies’ day season closing at Drai’s

Meydan party spot Drai’s is closing its doors for the month of August, but not before one final farewell with its season closing ladies’ day today. Ladies receive free flow house beverages from 12pm to 4pm, a chef’s selection of light bites and complimentary sun bed, with doors staying open until 8pm.

Drai’s DXB, Soho Garden, Meydan, 12pm to 8pm, Tuesday. Tel: (052) 388 8857. draisdxb.com

Wednesday: Industrial Avenue opens

You might know Industrial Avenue as that outdoorsy bit next to what was China Grill (now Asia De Cuba), but not any more. Industrial Avenue has undergone a makeunder, and is set to open as a ‘musical institute’ and underground club this Wednesday August 1. Promising a music-focused experience and back to basics approach, doors open from 11pm.

Industrial Avenue, The Westin Mina Seyahi, 11pm onwards, Wednesday August 1, free. Facebook.com/IndustrialAvenueDubai

Wednesday: Candypants at Inner City Zoo

If it’s something more commercial you’re looking for, the Wednesday night Candypants party is a top option. Taking over Inner City Zoo every Wednesday from 11pm, there’s three free drinks for the first 150 girls on the guestlist, plus expect pun-tastic signs to pose with, shot shows and a lively party atmosphere.

Inner City Zoo, Rixos Premium, JBR, Wednesday, 11pm to 3am. Tel: (058) 867 5357. Facebook.com/InnerCitydxb

Thursday: Wok & Roll brunch at Mr. Miyagi’s

It’s firmly cemented itself as one of the go-to spots for a midweek ladies’ night or post-brunch party, but Mr Miyagi’s Thursday evening brunch has recently reached our radar, and we reckon it’s a great spot to kickstart the weekend. The first bites such as edamame and spring rolls are served to the table to share, then it’s help yourself to the sushi station before selecting a main and dessert from the menu. Expect a lively atmosphere, with crowd karaoke and crazy games to get the crowd going.

Mr Miyagi’s, Level 9, Media One Hotel, 8pm to 11pm, Thursdays, Dhs290 house, Dhs390 sparkling. Tel:(04) 420 7489. mrmiyagisdubai.com

Friday: Cafe Mambo Summer Edition at Soho Garden

If you can’t make it to Ibiza this summer, you’re in luck, as Soho Garden is bringing Ibiza to you. While it might be too hot to head outdoors for their weekly Cafe Mambo event, the Meydan nightspot has brought the party inside with their fully air-conditioned tent. Alongside their weekly resident DJs, expect a weekly-changing international act on deck duty. This week, Soho welcomes guest DJ illyus & Barrientos, followed by the renowned DJ GotSome on August 10.

Cafe Mambo at Soho Garden, Meydan, Dubai, 7pm to late, Fridays. Tel: (04) 240 8395. Sohogardendxb.com

Friday: Retro brunch after-party at House Party Bar

Everyone seems to be talking about The House Party Bar, and with good reason. With its kitch ’90s decor, a soundtrack to match, and all the novelty items you’d find at a college frat party, this retro Downtown bar has brought exactly what Dubai was missing. On Fridays they want to douse you in nostalgia with an unlimited drinks package between 4pm to 8pm for just Dhs200 where you can indulge in classic fun things from our favourite decade including Nintendo, beer pong and a whole lot of Britney.

The House Party Bar, Fairmont Dubai, Sheikh Zayed Road, 4pm to 8pm, Fridays, Dhs200. Tel: (050) 995 5400. thehousepartybar.com
